It is because because google is the top most priority search engine.About 80 to 90 percent People around the globe use it to search their questions,information and other stuff.I personally use google search engine mostly.
When you submit your blog to google search engine (or any other search engine) your blog pages get indexed by Google bot automatically.You can also submit your blog pages manually at google search console by requesting a submit.
In simple and plain words ,I will say that if you want to rank higher in google search quickly you need to get your pages indexed.What is ranking higher?

Ranking high in google search means that it brings you closer to the first page of google search.The more up and closer you are to the first page,the more traffic you will get to your blog.

Note:Before starting make sure that you are signed in with gmail account or you can sign in later when you open google webmaster tools.
1-Type Google webmaster tools in google search.
2-Click and open Google webmaster tools.
3-Click on ADD Property.
4-Enter your website or android mobile app url(address e.g: http://your blog.blogspot.com)
5-After entering your blog url,your blog will be submitted.Bloggers donot need to confirm their blog ownership,because blogger being a part of google is automatically verified through your gmail.
6- If you are a blogger then you are done here.To check your verification details click
7-Blogger can also verify through other methods as well (if you wish to).The easiest one is meta tag method.
*Click on verify using a different method.
*Click on HTML Tag
*Copy the meta tag code
8-Sign in to blogger dashboard,click template and then edit HTML
9-Below is a list of metatags that appear near the start of you blogger template code below first <head>
10-You will paste your code anywhere near them whereever an empty line is available or you can create an empty line(by backspace) and then paste.I found an empty line at 53.
11-Save your template(important) and then click on verify in search console.
Remember:meta tag method is not important for bloggers.Because your ownership is confirmed by gmail.You need only to submit your blog url.
